Alex Silvergold 

Alex Silvergold is an up-and-coming 17 year old drummer from the Red Bank, New Jersey area. Alex has a technical style that is heavily influenced by players like Gavin Harrison, Marco Minneman, Mike Mangini, Tony Royster Jr., and Mike Portnoy.  Alex is a long-time member of Rockit!, New Jersey’s premier rock band program for young musicians directed by Bruce Gallipani and run out of the Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank, NJ.


Alex has performed on the legendary Count Basie stage more than 20 times, has performed for Max Weinberg, has opened for guitarist David Bromberg, and has jammed with music legends Carmine Appice, Mike Portnoy, Billy Sheehan, and Richie Kotzen.


Alex is featured on the Tessellations jazz-rock fusion album, where he performs in a power trio with guitarist Ray Suhy and bassist Rolando Alvarado.  Alex played drums on the debut EP from Pam Flores, “Pieces” and he is also the drummer for Jersey Shore band Urban Toast.


Alex has been playing drums for about 7 years, is currently studying jazz drumming, and has previously studied with Bruce Gallipani and Chris Coleman.
